Zina (tracks) – unpublished version (III)

Siemaszko, Olga (1911-2000)

Pen drawing depicting the railway tracks leading to the Auschwitz camp; crematorium smoke visible in the distance. One of the unpublished versions of the illustration for the short story "Zina" by Maria Zarębińska-Broniewska (the original drawing eventually used in the book "Ręka umarłej" (Hand of a Deceased): MPOLIN-M1633).

This one differs from the three other versions of the drawing (two unused and one published) in the detail in the depiction of the smoke: it is drawn with four lines that undulate and partially overlap, especially on the left side. Each railroad tie is drawn with two parallel horizontal lines connected on both sides by short vertical lines.
