Photograph of a young girl from the series "Warsaw Portraits". Her participation in the project is a record of her declaration of identity, and at the same time she is a representative of a generation of young women, a member of the community of the city of Warsaw, where she was born and lives. Iwona Kurz, in the catalogue of the exhibition "Obecność/brak/ślady” (Presence/Absence/Traces), where the whole series was presented, states: "Photography, seemingly universal and uniform ... reveals here its properties as a medium that allows it to act locally (site-specifically), because – used appropriately – it activates precisely local processes, identities and events that 'live' here and now".
