Walentynowicz, Katarzyna (1986- )

Depiction of a woman wearing a white blouse with dark ribbon and of a bald man with a beard. He is wearing a dark, patterned sweater. The figures are presented from the waist’s up – the invisible line of the bottom margin seems to be cutting the silhouettes off. Some not completely erased lines of preliminary pencil drafts can still be visible – e.g. near the outline of the man’s head, drafts of the oval of the skull or a horizontal line going through the woman’s arms and torso – probably a previous version of the bottom line. The same line goes through the corresponding place on the man’s body.

The drawing was part of the visuals prepared for the Museum Friends Club. The group of people appears on posters, leaflets and card cases of the Museum Friends Club to emphasise the community-based character of the Club. The essence of its activities are the regular meetings of its members, the talks with, e.g. employees and curators of temporary exhibitions. More about the Club - see: https://www.polin.pl/pl/klub
