The drawing depicts a shtetl and the ordinary life of the Jewish population in it. The work was inspired by the description in Hanna Krall's book "Okna" (Warsaw 1990): "A man has to leave the place where he was born and his childhood in order to return to it later. [...] Not – [gain] knowledge of it, but the ability to understand it". MBK
