Objects

The drawing depicts a scene where a Polish woman places a pillow resembling a pregnant belly under her dress (occasionally changing it to a larger one to give the impression that her belly is growing). The mystification was to save the yet unborn child of a Jewish woman. We see her pregnant, hiding in a closet – it is her child who will become the adopted offspring of a Polish couple. MBK
