Wójcik, Jaśmina (1983-)

The drawing is an illustration of a scene described in Jerzy Antczak's book "Reporterka. Rozmowy z Hanną Krall" (Warsaw 2007), which mentions Meir Reichgold's daughter hiding with her niece in a villa in Radość. The woman reads "The Lilies", a ballad by Adam Mickiewicz, to the girl to keep her away from the window, where she could be spotted by the Germans. And outside the window, you can see people who walk towards the railway ramp every day, from where they are taken to extermination camps. MBK
