Wójcik, Jaśmina (1983-)

The drawing is an illustration of a scene of the execution of Jews described in Hanna Krall's book "Hipnoza" (Warsaw 1989). Jewish people fleeing across a field were murdered with rifle fire by Nazi soldiers. The bodies of the murdered were stripped of their clothes and shoes by local residents, while young boys living in the area arranged them in various poses, upright, like sheaves of grain. The next day, the Germans ordered the local population to take the corpses of the dead to the Jewish cemetery. MBK
