Jewish Orphanage in Lublin

Photographic documentation of the site

In 1867, at 11 Grodzka Street, thanks to the commitment of the shoemaker Berk Cwajg, an orphanage for Jewish children was established. The building was owned by the Jewish Religious Community and, in addition to the day care centre, it housed the community offices and the Shelter Room for Jewish Old People and Cripples. A primary and vocational school was also run at the orphanage.
