Letter to Anna Zimmermann (XI)

In this letter, written most probably in 1947 (Natalia mentions that she has to "go to Bydgoszcz and bring back everything that Józiek left"), Natalia Zajczyk informs her sister Anna Zimmermann about her health and writes that "since January I have been on unpaid leave". She mentions that "the entire fifteen pages of my diary have already been translated into another language. I do not like the fact that this is not in agreement with me. I will ask Mrs. Basia Bermanowa (she is a librarian) to intervene. I know Mrs Basia better than I know Mr Adolf [Berman]. During the German occupation I was in touch with her. It was she who bought me out from the Gestapo. In principle, I agree to translate, but not so ugly. I will try to get Mrs. Basia to give the translation to someone else". (The letter from Natalia Zajczyk to Anna Zimmermann, no date). | We know nothing about the diary that Natalia mentions.| Renata Piątkowska
