Stalinogród[,] 12 February 1954

Dear Boguś – I regret very much that I will not be able to meet you. I wanted to come for at least 2 days, but Duśka stopped me, explaining that I should not travel just for the pleasure of seeing you. In the face of compelling arguments, such as using the free days to prepare a concert programme, I have decided to postpone my arrival. But I really wanted to see you and see about your well-being, which I am sure will immediately change for the best as soon as you breathe the atmosphere of your sweetest children. Of course, if you are still hoarse, there will be difficulties in communicating with your children, who will have to take care of their Daddy - the convalescent. May you no longer be hoarse and may you be able to return to complete health as soon as possible. I wish this for both you and dear Pela with all my heart!

Should you wish to change the surgeon later on when planning your next operation and possibly need the assistance of Dr Łukaszczyk – I would be happy to write to him, but I judge from Pela's account that Dr Dryjski displayed a lot of interest in your care[,] Boguś. Has the wound completely healed? I think that Mrs Janina will also have to think about a menu that would give you strength and not fat, so that during the next operation no surgeon will consider it an obstacle. Since I assume that you still have quite a long leave and a lot of time, I am sending you a Czech book by an interesting writer, Rzezacz. Maybe when you feel stronger, you will send me a few words[,] for which I will be very grateful - for now, I am sending you and Pelutka a very very very big hug

Your Stefa

My dear Pelinka, I'm sending wishes of health, humour and a small gift – rompers – for your son who is celebrating his 1st year of life. For the girls – books to be shared and used nicely

Kisses, Stefa
