Anna Pliszka was born in Warsaw on 26th February 1940. Her parents were Artur Rajcher and Chaja Rajcher (nee Bromberg).

During World War II, the family hid in Rembertów near Warsaw. After being denounced in August 1943, her parents decided to commit suicide. Anna and her mother intended to drown themselves in the Wisła River. The circumstances of her father’s death are unknown. Both women were rescued and, subsequently, they hid with the support of the “Żegota” Council to Aid Jews. During the Warsaw Uprising, they left Warsaw, returning only after the war ended.

Anna Pliszka graduated in medicine. She worked as an endocrinologist, first at the Bialany Hospial and, later, in her own medical practice. During the martial law period, she was involved in the activities of NSZZ “Solidarność”. She is a member of the “Children of the Holocaust” Association. The story of her life is described in the book, by Patrycja Dołowy, "Wrócę, gdy będziesz spała" (“I’ll Return When You’re Sleeping”).
