Stormy Sky

Litauer-Schneider, Mery (1900-1992)

Mery (Mary) Litauer-Schneider was not only the director of the Madoc Art Center, who also taught painting there, in the years 1952–1962. Most of all, she remained an artist and kept creating paintings full of vivid colours using watercolours, oil and acrylic paints. One of the paintings from that period is the “Stormy Sky”, a landscape of a dark stormy sky covered with black clouds spreading above the trees. Painted with strong, thick brush strokes, the picture perfectly captures the moment full of disquiet and danger.
