Cuboid suitcase, one compartment with the lid, made of wooden boards and plywood. It belonged to Marek Oberländer. The edges are tenoned, no nails were used. The inside is timbered, the hinges attached with three metal screws each. In the centre of the longer side is a handle made of leather, blocked with rivets and attached by two metal grips. The case could be locked: a metal lock is situated in the side of the main compartment, two rectangular bolts sticking out from the lid’s edge. The wood was not treated with staining; the signs of usage are visible but it is not strongly fatigued. As can be judged from the quality of work, it was made by a carpenter. Its small size makes us realise how little the then 24 year old man could have taken with him, when starting his journey back home.
