Throne

Chmielewska, Iwona (1960- )

The drawing shows King Maciuś the First sitting on a throne. The top of the back of the throne extends beyond the blue background into the margin. King Maciuś can be seen from the left semi-profile, sitting in a red jacket and red mid-leg trousers, with brown gaiters and brown ankle boots. The throne is about five times his size. A floral motif is prominent in the back and forearm rests and the cushion-seat - in grey-green fabric. Flowers are the leitmotif of the design. So is the crown: it appears as a kind of base for the throne - its four legs stand on four of the eight peaks of the great crown.
